[SOLVED] Emeet Webcam Microphone Not Working

Let’s just say that you’ve just set up your new eMeet C960, excited to start streaming or join video calls.

The camera quality is fantastic; everything looks sharp and clear.

But then—surprise—the microphone isn’t picking up any sound.

It’s annoying since the mic is essential for a complete setup, right?

But don’t worry!

There are a few simple solutions to get your microphone working properly.

Ensure It Isn’t Disabled

Oftentimes, the simplest things trip us up.

You might not know, but it could be that your eMeet webcam’s microphone is disabled by default.

Typically, this happens because of the system you’re running like Windows 10, for example.

If it isn’t detected in any of the software, it could mean it’s disabled by system. For example, there’s no microphone shown under microphone tab of your software.

How to know your Emeet Webcam Microphone is disabled

Open the Control Panel on your Windows computer, then locate and select “System.”

From there, click on “Sound” to access different audio settings. You should see your microphone listed if it’s connected.

If it displays “No input devices found,” it likely means your eMeet webcam microphone is disabled or not detected.

Here’s how to enable your Emeet Webcam Microphone

Again, open the Control Panel, then go to Hardware and Sound > Sound.

In the new window that opens, click on the Recording tab to see a list of all available microphones.

Right-click within this tab, and you’ll see two options: Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. Select both options.

Look for your eMeet microphone in the list. If it’s plugged in but disabled, right-click on it.

From the options that appear, choose Enable.

This will activate your eMeet microphone, allowing it to function properly.

Check Your Privacy Settings

Windows and macOS have privacy settings that control which apps can access your microphone. If it’s turned off here, the mic won’t work in any apps.

This is another setting that you might’ve missed. Depending on your system, the setting options will slightly vary.

On Windows:

Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.

You’ll find various apps that may or may not have access to your Emeet microphone. Scroll down and you’ll even find the Zoom and Skype apps.

That being said, toggle Allow apps to access your microphone to On.

On macOS:

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy.

Under the Privacy tab, select Microphone and make sure your apps are allowed access.

Update or Reinstall eMeet Webcam Drivers

Tried other steps, checked app permissions, and your eMeet mic still won’t work?

It could just be a driver issue at this point.

Drivers are what make your computer and devices talk to each other. So they’ve got to be up-to-date to keep everything running smoothly.

Without the latest or missing drivers, your mic might not function or show up.

No worries, though!

Just follow the steps below to make sure your mic has everything it needs to stop playing hard to get!

For Windows users

Open up Device Manager (just search for it in the Start menu) and find your eMeet webcam. You might see it listed under Audio inputs and outputs or Cameras.

Right-click on it and hit Update driver.

Select Search automatically for drivers to let Windows hunt for the latest version.

If updating doesn’t get things moving, try Uninstall device instead, then restart your computer.

When it powers back up, Windows should automatically reinstall fresh drivers for you.

For Mac users

It’s even simpler—drivers usually come with the OS updates. Just make sure your macOS is up-to-date. And it should handle all driver updates automatically, keeping your eMeet mic ready to go.

Try Plugging It into a Different USB Port or another PC

Try giving this a shot: plug your eMeet webcam into a different USB port.

Faulty ports can sometimes be the sneaky reason your mic isn’t not working. And if you’re using a USB hub, try connecting the webcam directly to your computer to rule out any hub issues.

Still no luck? Test the webcam on another computer. If it works there, you’re probably dealing with a software or settings issue on your main computer.

But if the mic still won’t cooperate on a different device, it could point to a hardware issue with the webcam itself.

Try External Mic

Tried all the troubleshooting tips and your eMeet webcam’s built-in mic still isn’t working?

I’d suggest using an external microphone, which could be your best bet.

An external mic is easy to set up and can be a lifesaver for streaming or video calls.

Simply plug the external mic into your computer’s USB port or audio jack. Then, go to your Sound Settings to select it as the default input device.

External mics are often designed to provide better audio quality. So this workaround might even upgrade your overall sound experience.

Final Word

These steps cover most situations. But if your microphone still won’t work, there could be a hardware issue with the eMeet webcam itself. In that case, reach out to eMeet support.
