EZVIZ cameras are pretty solid, giving you that peace of mind whether it’s an indoor or outdoor camera.
But let’s be real—tech isn’t perfect.
One day it’s all working smoothly, and the next, your camera just won’t connect to WiFi.
Seeing your security camera go offline can definitely make you wonder if it’s as reliable as you thought, right?
But honestly, it’s not always a big deal. Most of the time, it’s just a quick fix away.
So, before you start doubting your camera’s quality, give it a shot with some easy troubleshooting steps.
Weak WiFi Signals
When your Ezviz camera shows “device is offline,” it’s often due to weak Wi-Fi signals.
Hence, it is why your Ezviz camera isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi.
It usually happens when the camera’s too far from the router or there are thick walls blocking the signal.
I would try moving the camera closer to your router during the setup process. If it connects, then you’ve pinpointed the problem.
If relocating the camera isn’t an option, think about using a Wi-Fi extender to boost the signal.
Check your Signals on Ezviz app
You can also check the signals strength in the Ezviz app to ensure they’re strong enough.
Step 1: Launch the Ezviz app
Step 2: Tap on more
Step 3: Select “Settings”
Step 4: Click on “Device network settings”
Step 5: Tap on “Check Wi-Fi signal”
Also, don’t forget to do the network testing during the setup. If the network is within range and is functional, your Ezviz camera will connect to it.
Before testing and reconnecting your Ezviz camera to Wi-Fi, ensure that you’ve selected 2.4 GHz network!
Change router settings
Though it sounds tricky, tweaking router settings is usually all it takes to get your EZVIZ camera reconnect!
Don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it seems. You can do it yourself.
Start by opening a web browser and typing in your router’s IP address (usually something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
Enter your login credentials—these are often found on a label on the router itself.
Once you’re in, look for options related to MAC filtering and make sure it’s turned off. This feature might be blocking the camera from accessing the network.
Next, check that DHCP is enabled—this ensures devices can automatically get an IP address.
Lastly, disable AP Isolation (also called client isolation), which can prevent devices on the same network from communicating with each other.
And save the changes!
Besides these settings, ensure that your firewall and any VPN you’re using are turned off when you’re trying to reconnect. Sometimes, they can block the connection without you even realizing it.
Once you’re back online, you can switch them back on if needed.
Try a Different Network
There could be something specific about your home Wi-Fi setup that’s causing the issue. It could be that your Wi-Fi works just fine with other devices. But for some reason, your EZVIZ camera is having trouble connecting with this specific network.
If possible, try connecting the camera to a different Wi-Fi network, like a mobile hotspot or another router. If it connects, then the problem is likely with your original network, not the camera.
Restart everything
Oftentimes, all your setup needs is a quick reboot.
This is something I do with my other gadgets, too. A quick restart might be all it needs, and it won’t take much time at all.
Start by restarting your router—just unplug it, wait about 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
While you’re at it, give your EZVIZ camera a quick reboot, too. Unplug the camera, let it sit for a bit, then power it back on.
If you’ve got your EZVIZ camera hooked up with an Ethernet cable, go ahead and unplug it for a bit.
Just pulling out the cable and plugging it back in can refresh the connection and get things working again.
Once everything’s booted up, check if your camera connects.
Still no luck? Try giving your phone, router, and camera another restart. Sometimes, it’s just a temporary glitch that’s causing connectivity issues.
This little restart routine often clears up connectivity issues. And it’s super simple to try before diving into more other troubleshooting steps!
Reset the Camera
The camera might be holding onto old network settings that are causing problems.
Do a full factory reset on your EZVIZ camera, then set it up from scratch.
This will clear any old network data and let you connect fresh.
Final Thoughts
Setting up your EZVIZ camera should be easy, but connectivity issues can sometimes make it a bit tricky. Hopefully, these solutions get your Ezviz camera to reconnect to Wi-Fi. If you’re still facing connectivity issues, consider reaching out to EZVIZ support for more help.
